Toronto, Ontario (March 2, 2017)

The Pride and Remembrance Association is proud to announce the following four organizations as beneficiaries of Toronto’s 22nd Pride and Remembrance Run: Fife House, The Canadian Center for Gender and Sexual Diversity, Casey House and the Pride and Remembrance Foundation.

The Pride and Remembrance Run is an annual tradition promoting and fostering community spirit, goodwill and sportsmanship in the LGBTQ+ community. The annual 5km run or 3km walk will be on Saturday, June 24th, 2017. The run coincides with Toronto Pride, which is devoted to the celebration and support of Toronto’s diverse LGBTQ+ community. It is also the largest running event of its kind in Canada and of the most popular running events in the GTA. Over the past 21 years, the Pride and Remembrance Association has raised over $1.3 million for local charities that support the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBTQ+) community.

The 2017 Pride and Remembrance Run beneficiaries are:

Fife House Transitional Housing Program

Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity Gay-Straight Alliance Forums across Ontario
The Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity works in schools and youth communities to stop bullying and discrimination by holding forums, workshops, training and providing ongoing support. This organization aspires to support and transform Canadian and indigenous communities from coast to coast to coast in a shared vision of a discrimination-free gender and sexually diverse world.

Casey House – Rebuilding Lives Day Health and Wellness Program
Casey House is a specialty hospital that provides compassionate health care to those living with medically complex experiences of HIV/AIDS. In an effort to improve patient services Casey House is building a new health care facility and introducing a Day Health and Wellness Program.
